How to Flash Resurrection Remix V5.5.8 in Zenfone 5

Files Needed:
  • Intel USB Driver (Download HERE)
  • ADB Fastboot Tool (Download HERE)
  • And some more, which will be mentioned below
How to Install Resurrection Remix V5.5.8 ROM
  1. Download all files needed above
  2. After downloading, install TWRP Recovery on Zenfone 5 (Tutorial HERE)
  3. Download Resurrection Remix V5.5.8 Custom ROM
    • for Zenfone 5 T00F (A500CG) (Download HERE)
  4. Download the Gapps (Download HERE)
  5. After downloading both zip, place both Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.8-20151113-a500cg.zip and Gapps.zip in your MicroSD
  6. Turn Off your Zenfone 5
  7. Go to Recovery Mode (press Power button + Volume up)
  8. It will enter TWRP, first take the backup of ur current OS (tick everything), so you can restore if u want to use stock at some point (even the apps will be there, but if you kept the obb, data in internal, it will be wiped,so better copy android folder to PC)
  9. Now click wipe,click advanced wipe, select everything except the MicroSD (be careful), if you want to keep the internal files, then untick internal storage also.
  10. Click the install, choose externalSD, search for those zip, and install Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.8-20151113-a500cg.zip, then install Gapps.zip and then reboot your ZenFone 5 T00F.
  11. After flashing, you should format (not wipe) data and cache in the TWRP. Then you should reboot to system.
  12. Enjoy the Resurrection Remix V5.5.8 custom ROM in Zenfone 5

    Really good UI. battery drains too much but use any auto start manager. It helps u lot.
    Bugs i faced yet that screen turns on automatically.

    Bugs;It drops touch response after calls....
    Camera is not good.
    Battery backup is bad.
    It doesn't have YouTube, Google files etc..
    .
    But after updates:
    You will get a completely a new device.
    Theme option.
    Good UI.
    U can change ur CPU settings with 3C toolbox.

    my zen5 mic stopped working after installing this rom. i am now out of warranty period. I have now rolled back to stock rom. But it didn't help. What should i do now?

      I also tried this on my device to revert back to kitkat from resurrection remix 5.5.8
      Do not try to revert back in lollipop....
      Try kitkat version first then update to lollipop...
