Asus Zenfone 5 Firmware Update V3.24.40.78 - ASUS has updated the firmware for Zenfone 5 (A500CG) with software Image: V3.24.40.78. In this firmware update there are additional new features, such as: Support theme enggine, Update phone APN version, and much more.

Steps of Update :
  1. Check software version of your device**
  2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
  3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, TW->TW.
  4. Software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
  5. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.

    I've update 3.23.40.60 to 3.24.40.78, manually without unrooting device. After updating root access deny. how to solve this?

      You have to do Wipe cache/partition..
      It will solve ur problem.

      It takes 15-20 minutes for updating..but still you have problem.. Download updates again...

      Unroot ur device first.
      may be there was problem when u were downloading the update package....
      Then try one more time..

      Okes.. Done update to L.78... due to File issues... How ever when try to Reset by Reboot system there are still issue as this come out.. :

      E: Can't open dev/block/by-name/misc
      (Permision denied)

      Go to recovery mode,wipe cache/partition then format your device..
      Plz don't interrupt this process..after that reboot your device again..
      It will work normally.

      Press power key+volume up for bootloader..
      Then select recovery mode with the help of volume keys..select recovery...press power button...
      It automatically shut down ur device when you feel vibration then press volume up and volume down button together....
      U will get recovery mode..if there will no options....press volume up button and volume down button together..options will be there....

      If you want upgrade ur device ..first of all u have to unroot ur device.after upgrade u can root ur device...

      May be u got this problem because when u were downloading updates....there was any interruption..

    Please help me!After updating my zenny to v 24.40.78 until now i still can't use it. It didnt stop on loading and I tried to fix it, but instead of showing/displaying droidboot the battery logo with "?" appears. What to do? Thank you so much!

      When you select recovery mode....
      After that u see a android lies down with red signal and no command written....
      Then press volume up and volume down buttons together for 5 seconds..
      Sometimes its not working...but u have to try same method...
      U will see all ur option there..

      No dude,,no need to root ur device,if ur device is rooted plz unroot ur device first....
      As u said that u downloaded update... just copy ur update and paste into ur device memory or memory card..then u will see a notification ....(if not re start ur device)...
      And plz don't interrupt the whole process....

      Only problem i notice yet that,,,power saver is not working well...
      Whenever i open power saver i get a massage "unfortunately, power saver has stopped "

    I downloaded UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-3.24.40.78-user and now it is giving me he option to extract the file when pasting it in phone memory.please guide me step by step how to upgrade to lolipop after downloading the firmware.

      Dude. You don't have to extract this package...
      You don't have do anything special..
      1.Just copy ur update (zip file don't extract)
      2. paste in internal memory or memory card.
      3.You will get a notification with a cautionary sign.then click ok ....
      (If not restart ur device)

    I rooted my zenfone 5 A501CG. It was having version 3.24.40.78 lollipop. When I opened SuperSu app, it was flashing that twrp should be installed. I CLICKED on install. After that it said to restart phone. I did. And now my phone is stuck with asus logo and below one spinning (loading type) circle. I did every step mentioned in this blog. Still the same problem.

      It means u can't access ur device...
      Try to put ur device in recovery mode..wipe cache ur device(format device if require).then reboot ur device .at first it takes a long time for access(when asus logo comes with spinning circle).

      As u said that u did all steps but u r still facing problem.
      I think ur device is bricked.i just want to suggest u that
      If ur device is in warranty period..go to the service center.u can also unbrick ur device but the process is too long and annoying.(this is my personal experience).
      Go to the service center they will surely help u.
