upgrade to Android L with following steps:
  1. Connect your ZenFone and computer with USB cable
  2. Enter your ZenFone storage via computer
  3. Select all data and copy it. Paste all your SD card data to your computer

Steps of Update:
  1. Check software version of your device**
  2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
  3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, TW->TW.
  4. Software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
  5. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.

    I updated from 3.23.40.52 and now my phone is brick that cannot start. I think is is only for upgrade from KK only. not support from older LL

      I had the same problem of Anh Quoc. I was upgrading from Kit Kat. I solved the problem with a factory reset from recovery because I wasn't able to enter in settings...

      Mine is rooted too. You need unroot your phone and paste the zip file in your internal storage. The update icon will show at the status bar when you disconnect your phone from computer. Everytime you want to update you need to do this process. Very annoying, but works.

    After the previous upgrade 54 there was youtube video laging the sound was faster than the actions done in the video its like the sound comes 2 sec early n then the action is done so i downgraded it to kitkat again n then it was fine so after the new upgrade 60 i again upgraded it but still it is the same is it the prob with the youtube app or with the firmware ? plz help..

      U have to update ur kitkat version first..40.54.
      Then u can upgrade ur device to thr lollipop

    i upgraded by Zenfone 5 to 3.23.40.60, now i am facing a problem that i cannot encrypt the phone, if i do it will not detect second SIM. i tried 3 times, but no clue why its behaving like this.. friends anyone have any idea, please help.

      Notice:
      Please must to download the UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-5.3.3.3-user.zip/UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-5.2.2.2-user.zip to perform downgrade procedure.
      Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, TW->TW.
      Software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
      Downgrade image will only revert back to latest KK version
      After OTA downgrade, device will perform factory reset automatically.then reboot automatically to complete upgrade process
      System upgrade may cause part of data missing, please buckup your important data before system upgrade


      Downgrade Zenfone 5 Steps (From L to KK)
      Download the downgrade tool: UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-5.3.3.3-user.zip/UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-5.2.2.2-user.zip
      Using MTP connecting Zenfone 5 with PC. (Enable MTP: Setting-->Storage-->press the USB icon on right corner--> Enable MTP)
      Copy file UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-5.3.3.3-user.zip to t he Zenfone 5 internal storage.
      Remove the USB cable, the device will pops up the system upgrade information.
      After finished, device will auto reboot and perform factory reset.
      Then copy file UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-5.2.2.2-user to the Zenfone 5 internal storage again.
      After downgraded, device will auto reboot and perform factory reset.
      After finished, please go to Settings->About-> software information->Build number. The version should be V2.21.40.44

    Can I downgrade the version back to 3.23.40.52? It seems that this version has worse HSDPA signal problems and tends to heat the battery faster.
