Asus Zenfone Install WW ROM from CUCC China Unicom

How to Install WW ROM From CUCC On Zenfone - When you just bought a Asus Zenfone 5 or Asus Zenfone 6 turns out to have CUCC version you do not need to worry because you can changed to  International WW version. Heres how to change it to WW firmware.


How to Install WW ROM from CUCC


Method 1
Tools and Resources:
  1. ADB Fastboot Tool (Download Here)
  2. Intel USB Driver for Android ( Download Here )
  3. Platform tools (Download Here)
  4. Fastboot.img (Download Here)
  5. Zenfone 5 Firmware Version V1.16.40.7(WW) (Download Here)
  6. Zenfone 5 Firmware WW (Latest) 
Instructions:
  1. Extract ADB Fastboot Tools and other resource to one folder
  2. Enter Droidboot / Fastboot mode (turn off your Zenfone and then press Power + Volume down)
  3. Connect your Zenfone to Computer / PC
  4. Open CMD then go to ADB and resource directory
  5. Type: fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img 
  6. Reboot then Go to recovery and select update from ADB
  7. Open CMD then go to ADB and resource directory
  8. Then Type: adb sideload UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-1.14.40.16-user.zip
  9. (UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-1.14.40.16-user.zip) is the name of firmware you downloaded earlier you can change it to update.zip or anything) 
  10. Go to recovery again and select update from ADB
  11. Open CMD then go to ADB and resource directory
  12. Then Type: adb sideload xxx.zip (xxx=the name of latest firmware) 
  13. After complete do double wipe (Tutorial Here)
Method 2
  1. Root your Asus Zenfone 5 or Asus Zenfone 6
  2. Download WW V1.14.40.50 Firmware (Zenfone 5 Download) (Zenfone 6 Download)
  3. Download ADB Fastboot Tool  (Download Here) 
  4. Extract WW Firmware to ADB Fastboot folder
  5. Go into recovery Volume up + Power to get into recovery modes, then volume down + volume up, hold volume up for 3 seconds. and then you will see ADB sideload. Press on that and get ready to go. 
  6. ON ADB Folder Hold Shift+Right Click and "Open command window here"
  7. Type "Adb sideload (drop the file into the terminal, don't write this!)" and then press enter, make sure there is a space between sideload and your file name.  
  8. Let it install, it will install and then give you an error after saying "cannot load volume /misc!" ignore it, wipe cache and reset.

    Can you help me please.
    I have the SKU CUCC when I apply the method 1, I get an error message "E: can not load volume / misc"

    After many many tries i found a way to convert my CUCC edition to WW.

    This way should work for any Edition.

    1.) Install ADB & USB Drivers
    2.) Download recovery image (version should be smaller or equal to desired rom)
    3.) Boot to fastboot mode (Power + Vol Up)
    4.1) flash fastboot.img from original desired rom zip (fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img)
    4.2) flash recovery image (fastboot flash recovery xyz.img)
    5.) reboot to fastboot again
    6.) launch recovery from fastboot
    7.) upload firmware (adb sideload xyz.zip)
    8.) wipe cache
    9.) reboot

    Your phone should now have the desired ROM & SKU (even future OTA updates should work)

    (1-6) i completed but 7 i couldn't , please explain or give me a screen short ,
    you give some recovery images but , that doesn't work , please answer

    Well, It didnt work for me but. I'm from Mexico and I bought A500CG in Pandawill, thefirmware was WW but the firmware was CUCC, ad I'll share my experience:

    I download the latest ww firmware and I flash
    via adb the recover.img, the fastboot.img and the dnx???.bin and ifwi???.bin according to the model, after that Iflash the rom via adb too and,,,,, succes

    Hello, when I try to get into recovery mode by pressing power on + volumen up, I get into a screen with the next message:
    CSC mode
    long press power key to restart system

    But I don´t see anymore.
