Asus Zenfone 5 Firmware Update V2.21.40.44 - ASUS has updated the firmware for Zenfone 5 (A500CG and A501CG) with software Image: V2.21.40.44. In this firmware update there is improved ie Improved system stability, Update phone APN version to 81, Update per Facebook sharing policy, and much more.

  1. Update phone APN version to 81.
  2. Update per Facebook sharing policy
  3. "Due to changes in Facebook’s service policy, ASUS apps will no longer be able to access the list of all your Facebook friends or their public information such as birthdays, feeds, public albums, and etc. Some features have been modified in order to comply with this new policy. Thank you for your understanding.
  4. Changes on the apps:
    • ASUS Gallery
       Friends’ public albums are no longer in service.
       Likes and comments feature are disabled.
    • ASUS Contacts
       Friends’ recent feeds push notification are disabled.
       Lower resolution profile picture is used.
       Option to set contact’s cover image from Facebook is removed.
       Synchronization of birthday information is not supported.
    • Phone In-call screen
       Lower resolution profile picture is used."
  5. Improve system stability
Steps of Updates:
  1. Check software version of your device**
  2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
  3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, TW->TW.
  4. Software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
  5. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.

    i have a problem while updating !!! i have rooted my phone and also have edited some system files , now i want to update it, but it fails !what to do ???? i cant restore my system files as i haven't taken backup of it.

      Try to search for previous version of ROM and flash it...the ROM is provided on Asus site

    Hi, how can I update my ZF5 V2.21.40.30 WW to 2.21.40.44 ?

    I downloaded the update, copied it to my root folder, disconnected the usb but nothing happend. Do I need to rename it?

      I was never able to update through system updates. It checks but finds no new updates.

      I managed to update manually though to 2.21.40.44

    While updating the frimware by using WIFI my mobile got switched off and it is still not switched on (after 1 hour). When i am trying to switch it on by long pressing the power button, a share icon displaying on the screen and again it is getting switched off.. please help me how can i switch on my mobile.

      Shashidhar try to enter into droid mode (power +volume up) then reboot it with volume up and downkeys to select it and click it by power key..!! This should help u...!!

    What happened this time, I can't make it out. I never faced this issue while updating the phone earlier. Plz help me out.

    i used latest 2.21.40.44 firmware but gps no signal. i flash back to 2.21.40.30 firmware where gps signal work fine. any idea how to get gps signal work fine on 2.21.40.44 firmware.? my phone a500cg not rooted

    Work fine for me, in order to update manually you must rename zip file to standard format, example for my WW T00J, rename the zip file to UL-ASUS-T00F-WW-2.21.40.44-user

    Hi all.
    I was updating my zenfone 5 to 2.22.40.53 ww (i own a ww one), everything went ok untill it got to the instaliing update screen and said:"assert failed". I looked up and saw "2.19.40.18-tw" (i think it's recovery version). Can someone tell me what to do now? I just have rooted my phone using Rootzenfone5 and failed.

    last 29th may i got updated by the firmware, after then my incoming call has a problem , when the call come the person voices in not audible. can any one suggest me what the actual problem is
