How to Downgrade Asus Zenfone KitKat to JellyBean

Downgrade Zenfone KitKat to JellyBean - Updates to kitkat on zenfone newly granted by asus is still not perfect and there are still many bugs. If you are uncomfortable with the current updates KitKat, you can downgrade to a JellyBean, and you can do an update to KitKat if Asus have fix the bug and release a firmware update.


Preparing Tools :
  1. Intel USB Driver for Android (Download Here)
  2. ADB Fastboot Tool (Download Here)
  3. Recovery Image (Zenfone 4Zenfone 5, Zenfone 6)
  4. Download 4.3 Jellybean Firmware (Zenfone 4Zenfone 5, Zenfone 6) -> Other > Firmware> 
Instructions:
  1. Install Intel USB Driver and Extract ADB Fastboot Tool
  2. Copy Recovery Image to ADB Folder
  3. Extract downloaded 4.3 Jellybean Firmware and Copy to ADB Folder
  4. Turn On USB Debugging (Tutorial Here)
  5. Connect Zenfone with USB Cable to Computer/PC
  6. Open ADB Folder and Open Command Prompt (Shift + right Click > Open Command Here)
  7. Type: adb reboot bootloader
  8. When succed reboot and enter fastboot Type: fastboot flash recovery file.img (file.img = adjust the filename, recovery image that you download earlier)
  9. Then Go to ADB: choose Recovery when android robot appear press volume down + volume up and Choose update from ADB
  10. Type adb sideload file.zip (file.zip = adjust the filename, asus zenfone firmware that you download earlier), and wait until complete
  11. Wipe Cache and Data (Tutorial Here)
  12. Reboot

    i have an error,cant open the file.

    What name should we adjust.

    1. the file you rename is 'file.zip'
      after you complete rename the file, then type adb sideload file.zip.zip in cmd. it should work. the cmd will send the file to your phone.

  2. Setelah memilih menu "recovery", maka anda akan dihadapkan pada gambar robot android yang terlentang dengan tulisan "No Command". Nah, pada tahap ini anda diharuskan untuk masuk ke mode "Android System Recovery" dengan cara menekan dan menahan vol down, lalu menekan tombol vol up (dengan tetap menahan tombol vol down) dan melepas tombol vol up saja (Tombol vol down tetap ditahan). Jika anda berhasil, maka anda akan dihadapkan pada mode "Android System Recovery" dengan pilihan menu "reboot system now", "apply update from adb", "wipe cache", dll.

  9. When I was in the 9th step it shoowed Android bot with erro message something like no file found. It got stuck. Now I restarted it and it is not showing anything. :( :(



    What to do...

  11. Now I could come out of this issue by going to fast boot. But I am not able to downgrade. At step 9, it says no data found and android bot with red sign appeared. :(

  12. Found solution for red sign also from your blog only :) but while installing the package it says

    assert failed : getprop)"ro.build.asus.sku"=="ww"
    return code 8E:Error in /tmp/update.zip

    I am trying to downgrade to "T00F_WW_1_18_40_9" version

    i had the same problem in step 9!!!
    i think its because you dont know how enter recovery mode?
